EEW are seeking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Madrid. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the communication with Grid Operators, to secure cost-efficient connection of our solar projects to the electricity grid, and for supporting our Project Development teams across different markets, providing preliminary designs of solar projects and calculating their expected yield.
Liaise with competent Grid Operators (DNOs or TSOs) to identify available grid capacity, agree optimum grid connection solutions, and evaluate related costs
Manage the process of grid applications for projects under development, ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner and progress without delay
Analyse grid connection offers received and negotiate with respective Grid Operators their optimisation according to project needs
Appoint and manage technical experts to prepare preliminary and detailed grid connection studies
Design ground mounted, utility scale solar projects, according to land morphology and environmental restrictions, with optimum choice of technology
Calculate / optimise expected yield of projects under development, according to implemented technology and shading scene and with the use of the suitable meteorological data sources
Provide technical assistance to the Project Development teams, to ensure technical project risks are identified early and evaluated properly
University degree in Electrical Engineering; postgraduate studies in power generation, transmission and distribution systems will be considered a plus
Fluent in Spanish and English verbal and written
Deep understanding of High and Ultra-High voltage systems and respective design principles; at least 5 years relevant experience working for a TSO, DNO or an engineering or construction firm specialising in grid infrastructure works or products
Advanced, hands-on experience in solar PV power plant design and technology, ideally acquired working for a solar developer or EPC contractor
Extensive understanding of solar farm yield analysis and modelling
Experience in the integration of battery storage systems to grid connected solar farms will be considered a plus
Competent use of MS Office applications, document management systems and professional software solutions such as PVsyst and AutoCAD
