EEW are seeking for a Senior Project Developer to join our dynamic team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the communication with Grid Operators, to secure cost-efficient connection of our solar projects to the electricity grid, and for supporting our Project Development teams across different markets, providing preliminary designs of solar projects and calculating their expected yield.
Identification and acquisition of potential development sites, including spatial analysis relating to network availability and environmental constraints
Negotiation and execution of land agreements (leasehold or purchase) with landowners and commercial land agencies
Coordination of the due diligence process on respective land rights
Management of the planning process; selection and appointment of appropriate consultants, submission of necessary applications and studies, interaction with relevant stakeholders, and correspondence with local planning authorities and planning inspectorate
Management of grid connection process; selection and appointment of grid consultants, submission of grid connection applications and correspondence with the relevant grid operator (DNOs or transmission entities)
Evaluation of project feasibility, based on key project parameters (yield, capex, opex and expected electricity prices); continuous optimisation of project performance in close cooperation with our engineering team
Development of an extended business network, comprising of the necessary partners to properly plan and support the project development activity in different areas of the country (developers, land agents, grid experts, environmental engineers etc.)
Negotiation and management of co-development agreements; support in the due diligence process prior to acquisition of immature projects / pipelines
Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies or similar; post graduate studies with a focus on renewable energies or project management will be considered a plus
Knowledge of the Spanish planning framework; prior experience in either grid interconnection agreements or planning consenting is of the essence (as a developer, consultant or working for a DNO or planning authority)
Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on large scale projects; proven track record of multiple projects developed from inception to Ready-to-Build
Good understanding of solar technology and key parameters affecting project feasibility and performance
Friendly demeanour and ability to communicate efficiently with relevant stakeholders (landowners, land agents, public servants, lawyers, technical advisors, community groups etc.)
Able to manage workloads, prioritising and delivering work to tight deadlines; independent, flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to travel as required
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products; PVSyst and AutoCAD experience will be considered a plus
